Yabun Festival
Yabun is the largest single day Indigenous festival drawing an audience of between 10,000 and 15,000 and is one of the most important Indigenous music events in the country reflecting the huge wealth of Indigenous creative talent.

Yabun is renowned for its artistic line up – presenting some of Australia’s best in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music from around the country, including well established artists to those just emerging onto the scene.

Yabun also delivers a very current and informative cultural program, presenting panels and speeches by some of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community’s most recognised leaders, academics, politicians and artists

A little bit about the Festival
The Saltwater Freshwater Festival celebrates and shares our Aboriginal living culture on the Mid North Coast with the wider community and commemorates Australia Day as a positive, inclusive, family day for all communities to enjoy.

Over 12,000 people attended the inaugural Festival held in Coffs Harbour in 2010, followed by successful Festival in Port Macquarie in 2011 and Taree in 2013.

About Saltwater Freshwater Alliance
The Festival is the brainchild of the Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance Aboriginal Corporation, which is made up of the ten Local Aboriginal Land Councils from Karuah to Coffs Harbour. The Festival is nomadic and will be hosted in a different community each year.
